Office Manager
What inspired you to work at BrightFarms?
I am a foodie. I love cooking and eating great food. BrightFarms is transforming the food that will be on the shelves in grocery stores, replacing poor quality food that has traveled countless miles, with food that is grown right at the grocery store. Our product tastes amazing and is much healthier. As a mom, I care a lot about the foods that I feed my son. Knowing that we are growing food that is clean, healthy food, makes me feel good. I also like knowing that what we are doing is better for the environment, hopefully creating a better world for him to grow up in.
What do you do at BrightFarms? I wear a lot of different hats at BrightFarms. I am the office manager, support Paul, the CEO, and lead up our recruitment.
What experiences prepared you for your job?
Before working at BrightFarms, I was a teacher. As a teacher, I had the opportunity to positively impact the children I worked with, striving to change their lives for the better. At BrightFarms, I have the same overarching goal as I did teaching. We have plans to help educate communities about the importance of eating healthy, as well as our sustainable growing techniques.
What do you like best about working here?
It is exciting to be a part of a team that is going to change the way people view produce, as well as make positive changes in the world. I think what we are doing is brilliant and is the way of the future.
If you were a type of lettuce in our spring mix, which would you be and why?
Lollo rosso. It adds color to the spring mix and I like to think that I add a little color to peoples lives.
